#1 Turkey Pumpkin Chili

So the real name is ‘Crock Pot Turkey White Bean Pumpkin Chili‘ but that is a mouthful and much too long to actually say. Despite the lengthy name, this stuff is good. And I mean really good. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are not my thing but I do like using pumpkin in other ways so the moment I saw this recipe I knew I needed to test it out. I was honestly a bit nervous that the pumpkin flavor would take over the chili and it would be too overwhelming but instead it gave it the perfect Fall flair. It was super easy to throw together; after browning the turkey on the stove you dump all of the ingredients into the crock pot and let it be. I threw everything together in less than 10 minutes and dinner was ready when I got off work last night which was so nice! We only had 1 can of white beans in the pantry so I used 1 can of pinto beans to finish off the recipe and it worked just fine. I added a few extra spices like cinnamon {shocking} and cardamom and of course I ditched the onion because onions repulse me! If you haven’t noticed, I’m on a chili kick over here. No shame!

#2 Goal Setting

This will eventually have a post dedicated to it for Workout Wednesday in the near future but for now I just want to touch quickly on how important this has been to me. It’s so easy to get bored with your workout regime but when I set specific goals, both for a particular day’s workout as well as things that are more long-term, I feel much more willing to push myself harder. I write each goal down, because I have an addiction to writing literally everything down, and I love being able to cross things off. I can’t wait to put a huge red mark right through ’50 Real Push Ups’ and ‘5 Pull Ups’ by the end of this month. Some of my goals are as simple as stretching every day for 5 minutes or break a sweat 5x this week while some of them are much more direct such as ‘run 5 miles today, each of those under 8:10.’ Whatever your goals are, writing them down can make you more likely to complete them but it’s also a great way to really put some thought into what you want to accomplish in regards to fitness for yourself personally!
