With weather hovering in the upper 40s and all the snow from Monday gone, it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the outdoors on this first weekend of December. There’s something about living in a city of a million people, yet having the ability to drive a few miles and be out in the country, that really is the best of both worlds. In a small attempt to get away from the hustle & bustle of holiday shoppers, increased traffic, and our little concrete jungle, Kyle and I ventured off on ride in the truck. As soon as I saw this remote pull-off area, I knew we could get some great pictures so over a gate and down the path we went. Unfortunately there aren’t many leaves left on any of the trees and the colors are about as bland as can be but I so love how peaceful it looks.
Since we weren’t planning to stop anywhere, I skipped a jacket and put on this super cute striped cape {yet another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find} instead. I love how the skinny black belt contrasts with the lighter colors of the cape while giving me a more defined waistline as so many similar styles tend to hide your figure. My particular cape is sold-out, but you could easily belt this option or this one for the same type of look. Because 40s to me is NOT even remotely warm, I threw on my trusty black Fryes to ensure my toes & calves would be plenty warm if and when we did hop out of the vehicle. This style is one of my favorites at the moment and I’ve both dressed it up with these wool pants and dressed it way down with leggings and Uggs. Versatility is key in my wardrobe and this passes with flying {neutral} colors!
