Monday Musings – Vol 33 is coming to you on the LEAST Monday-feeling-Monday ever. And I’m not one bit mad about it. Because of that, I really think we need to discuss a 4-day work week. Actually maybe just a 3 day one? Like Tuesday-Thursday. But that’s probably not going to happen. We can wish though! Nevertheless, this ‘extra’ day was MUCH NEEDED after a great weekend. Saturday we got to watch Braxton be baptized and yesterday we had some of our favorites over. My heart is definitely full!

An update from my doctor’s appointment…

Because everything ‘looked good’ on Thursday, we get to wait some more. Obviously I’m incredibly grateful everything checked out fine. But on one hand, I kind of hoped that SOMETHING looked odd. Finally we could’ve had some answers. On the other hand I don’t WANT anything to be wrong either. So my sonohysterogram came back all clear. And the blood work {maybe I’ll do a few story slides tomorrow to rant abut this} they ran was all well within normal ranges. For the most part I’m happy about that. Yet it just magnifies the confusion of the failed transfers and losses. Why does my body hate me? I constantly ask myself that. What did I do wrong to make my body not work how it’s supposed to? It’s hard. Really damn hard. We have the greenlight to try again when my next cycle begins. So stay tuned!

What I’m looking forward to…

The Texas sunshine! But really I’m looking forward to seeing my mom, dad & Janae next week. Kyle and I are heading south next Wednesday and I cannot wait for a little break. We haven’t been down there since Thanksgiving and honestly that’s the longest gap in visits we’ve had in the 6 years they’ve lived there. Janae turns 21 on the 11th so we have some big plans while we’re there! 🙂 Like getting to-go margaritas from the Eskimo Hut & finally checking out Western Son. Of course Kyle is going to put to work, too. Apparently a bedroom needs painted and possibly some raised garden beds built. Luckily he loves helping! Flights are back to being insanely expensive from Omaha to DFW. And there’s no chance I’m wearing a mask. So we’re driving! Pretty please send recs of podcasts for us to pass the 9 hour road trip.

The sale of the year is coming…

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. But this year is going to look quite a bit different for me. First off, I will not be going to Kansas City for my annual try-on. It’s too close to leaving for Texas and I’m just not feeling it the same as years past. Also, with so many hiccups the last 2 years with inventory + website issues, lots of people are kind of over it. And I hear ya! Obviously I’ll still be shopping it and covering it. Because DUH! I’ll just be in a lesser capacity. One thing I loved about last year was the preview they allowed everyone to see. That’s back this year and goes live on July 6. So Thursday morning I’ll be posting a rundown of all things NSALE.

Random Ramblings…

• Y’all…BIG BROTHER starts on Wednesday. When Kyle & I lived with Erica & Ryan for a few weeks, they got us hooked. And now we’re die-hard fans. No shame! We haven’t really been watching any shows lately, so we’re excited for something new. We’ll also be watching Love Island. Because sometimes you just need to watch mindless, trashy TV! 🙂
• Saw this BLT Pasta recipe 3 different times this weekend. Without a doubt it’s a sign I need to make it.
• H&M has lots of great new arrivals out right now. Clearly I don’t NEED any of them. But I sure WANT a few. So I comprised with myself and just ordered THIS TANK + THESE SHORTS. Smalls in both!

• Mentioned last week that I started It Ends With Us and shortly after I published the post, I finished it. And it was insane. But I’m so glad it ended the way it did. Still cannot believe I hadn’t read anything by Colleen Hoover before! So I ordered Verity today after hearing great things.

  • Tuesday – Pulled Pork, Grilled Asparagus & Sweet Potatoes
  • Wednesday – Taco Salads (w/ ground turkey)

  • Friday – Smith’s 1st Birthday Party!
