It’s Christmas Eve EVE! That calls for a special Workout Wednesday – Christmas Edition. Doing things a bit different. Of course I’m still going to share a full workout with y’all at the end, but I thought I’d do an acrostic. 2020 has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for us all. One thing that has been a constant for me is my fitness routine. It’s been my form of therapy, my outlet, my release. So I wanted to try something fun to share my gratitude for how my body has powered through. The words below are ones I identify with. Things I’m thankful for and things I’ve gained.
Y’all, THESE Roger Centre Courts from On are SO GOOD.
M – Motivation
I’ve been motivated more than ever because of the obstacles this year as brought.
E – Energy
Each workout I complete amps up my energy levels and propels me to have a genuinely GOOD day.
R – Running
My go-to. Hands-down my favorite way to move my body, year after year.
R – Recovery
Focusing on recovery has allowed my body to push itself to levels I’ve never been able to, despite being the oldest I’ve been!
Y – Yoga
What I once didn’t care for, I’ve now learned to look forward to and enjoy.
C – Competition
Something I need a very healthy dose of in my life, on a daily basis. I compete with myself to be better than the day before.
H – Health
With all the craziness, my health is one thing I have almost complete control of. Working out keeps that in check.
R – Routine
Between my Type 8 personality & OCD-nature, I thrive having a solid routine. Exercise kicks that routine off every morning.
I – Imperfection
Embracing all of mine has been therapeutic but also taught me to identify where I fall short and what I can improve.
S – Spinning
A new addition to how I move my body, but a very welcomed one. I’ve learned to embrace the hard and have started to excel at it even!
T – Toughness
If I didn’t have this in 2020, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to make it through some of the hardest days that were thrown my way this year.
M – Meditation
Adding a regular meditation practice to my bedtime routine has been a game changer, in the best way. This is something I really want to grow next year as well.
A – Accountability
It would’ve been so easy to fall off the wagon when gyms closed and my ‘normal’ was upended. Instead I held myself accountable and I honestly know that I’m stronger, faster and more fit than ever before.
S – Strength Training
My second love. Something about throwing around weights makes me feel awesome. Can’t wait to keep building on that.
Workout Wednesday – Christmas Edition Workout of the Week
BODYWEIGHT FOCUSED
What you’ll need – YOUR BODY. A mat would be nice, maybe a set of stairs or a flat road to warm-up but otherwise all you need is YOU and a little space.
