Holy crap, a weekend at home. ALONE. Well, almost alone. I’m coming at you EARLY with Monday Musings – Vol 8. Feeling refreshed, energized and optimistic. Who the heck am I!? Lets just say I foresee a slightly obnoxious amount of coffee being consumed today. Not necessarily because I need it but because I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME GET WARM. And coffee helps me warm up. Like this bullshit *dusting* of snow we woke up to yesterday morning? Hard pass. Way to flipping early for that nonsense.
Where I went…
Uhmmm nowhere. Ok that’s not entirely true. I went to the trail to run. Also ventured out to with Kyle and his dad for breakfast. Oh and we braved the absolutely frigid weather yesterday to snap a few photos at the nature preserve and walk around some. Fresh air, baby! It’s what my soul needed. No plans are sometimes the best plans. And by that I mean where no one is dictating where I have to be or what time I have to be there.

What I organized…
The chaos that is Kristin’s closet(s). For as OCD as I am, two things might surprise you: the # of tabs I leave open on my computer at any given time and the obnoxiousness that is my closet. So obviously it’s mine AND Kyle’s closet, but lets be real…his stuff takes up approximately 1/8th of the space. Clearly the new additions from the Shopbop Sale needed space to be hung, so out needed to go some old pieces. Tons of stuff was listed on my Poshmark page so if you have any desire to check it out, please do! I basically accept any and all offers! I also tackled the guest bedroom closet, which I haven’t touched since we moved in. Now it’s basically empty. The way it should be.
Who I put first…
MY-FREAKING-SELF. Did I feel a little guilty about doing so? You bet. Did I need this weekend for me? Hell to the yes. I took a selfish on Saturday {Schitt’s Creek reference, anyone!?} and relished in it. Saturday was spent doing what I wanted to do, at my own pace. A little exercise, a little cleaning/organizing, a binge-fest of Emily in Paris… Oh and of course a little online shopping because what weekend would be complete without that? Of course I also did the Summer Fridays R + R mask last night + have been LOVING the PMD cleansing device I got from Prime Day.
Dress (Medium) / Booties – ON SALE! (Size 8) / Hat
Random Ramblings…
- Yes the Amazon sweater dress is worth it. Cripes, it’s only $35 so yes, get it. Maybe even in multiple colors. If you’re taller than my 5’5″ self, you may want to size up two sizes for length. I did a medium and it still isn’t long by any means. The only weird things is that there’s no tag, so for all I know I could be wearing it backwards? Either way, LOVE it. Super happy with the coffee color too.
- Speaking of clothes…we’re doing family pictures at the end of the month with Kyle’s family and everyone’s outfits are decided! I’m excited to not be wearing the typical ‘sweater + dark denim + boots’ combo. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, though! Just glad to have a slightly different vibe going. I mean they’re still FALL photos and all 😉 My dress should be here mid-week so stay tuned for a sneak preview of it!
- Friday afternoon I posted on IG stories about drinking a Tangerine White Claw at like 4pm (my first & last drink of the weekend LOL)…well my DMs literally blew up asking about the glass I was pouring it in. It was this champagne glass. Yes I am aware that champagne should go in it, but I have thing for putting mediocre drinks in fancy glasses. Not even sorry about it!
- Started a new book at the recommendation of a sweet Instagram friend: Burying the Honeysuckle Girls. So far, so good! I’ve been loving books with a little more substance lately and this one is fitting that bill. I feel like it’s going to be a quick read, so please spam me in the comments or send me a DM with the best books you’ve read lately!
- Fireplaces are my favorite. They’re so dang cozy. Nothing is better than having a fire going at night. Especially when it starts to get dark at like noon. I’d prefer it if we had a REAL one butttt our fake one is much cleaner. Still holding out hope for putting a wood-burning stove in the basement when we finish it. On that note — we are SUPER close to starting the framing of the basement. YAY!
