Holy crap, it’s October already. Where has this year gone!? I have heard so many people call 2020 a wash but I disagree. Despite some LOW lows, this year brought me Smith, Braxton & Georgia so I can’t complain. On that positive note, y’all have made Monday Musings – Vol 6 super easy on me. The DMs were coming in hot on 4 different areas this week so I figured I’d cover them all. I’m so glad many of you like reading a blog vs. an Instagram caption. I love writing and knowing some of you actually read my writing makes me super happy!
What I wore…
The amount of requests I got for a link to THIS CUTE $25 DRESS last night was crazy. But I get it. It is adorable. Flirty, fun, versatile. All things I look for in a Fall mini for sure. I grabbed the black floral pattern in a size small. Biggest downfall? It is short. Not just short but SHORT. You can wear it on or off-the-shoulder, which is great because wearing it OTS gives you about 2″ extra in length. This is a great option for a Fall winery date styled like I did, an outdoor wedding with a faux jacket or add a chunky cardigan for Sunday brunch.
What we ate…
Buffalo Chicken Chili Season is here! I hinted at getting ready to make my first batch in this post and after recipe requests, wanted to share MY version. It’s nearly identical to what you’ll find via Google. But we like it to have a strong kick. So the more buffalo sauce the merrier. I tweak the ingredients slightly based on who is eating with us. Just Kyle & I? An entire container of Frank’s. My parents? About half that. Kyle’s parents? 1/8 cup max LOL. Expect to see me making this on my stories about 1x/month until the weather warms up again next Spring!
What I finished reading…
Guess who finally got some uninterrupted time to actually read!? ME! It was AWESOME. In a span of 72 hours, I finished both True Colors and Where the Crawdads Sing. 10/10 recommend both. They’re actually each kind of heavy in their own right, and both touch on the subjects of racial injustices/prejudice. Pretty relevant in all honesty. Love the story telling of both authors! Side note: give Where the Crawdads Sing time. It took me almost 3 months to get through the first 100ish pages and like 4 hours to finish the entire remainder of the book.
What I thought of flying amidst COVID-19…
Easy breezy. Seriously though. The airports and airplanes were clean. Like you could SMELL the cleaning products. Everyone wore masks. And almost all employees — both in the terminals and flight attendants — had gloves on. People were respectful of your personal space. How rare is that!? Usually people are RUSHING through in the airport. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Also, if you take one tidbit away from Monday Musings – Vol 6 let it be: CHOOSE DELTA. Always. 🙂

Random Ramblings…
- Just grabbed a new outdoor rug for our front porch this morning and I think it is adorable. Me & cheesy sayings don’t really get along, but this one made me LOL {if you know, you know} and it was $13 so I had to bring it home with me.
- The amount of people saying ‘unfriend me if…’ or ‘please remove me if…’ that I’ve seen lately is mind-numbing. You mean you can’t have anyone in your life with a differing view? Not willing to engage in constructive conversations on hard topics? Zero time, or tolerance, for that bullshit. It isn’t always ‘your way or the highway,’ Brenda. DUH.
- Random…I visited Cassidy in Ohio this weekend and she let me know she hates my laundry detergent. Like HATES it. Says it smells spicy. Hahaha uhmmm what!? Clearly she’s weird because I use TYLER Glamorous Wash in the Diva scent and about 1,400+ people agree with me that it smells wonderful. 😉
- Temps are suppose to be in the mid-upper 70s all week and I AM HERE FOR IT. Now if only the UV index was back around a 9 instead of a pathetic 4ish…
- Saturday is Papa’s burial at the family cemetery. Definitely not ready for that. It’s almost like everything that has happened did so in some alternate universe. My entire family will be together for the first time in 17 months though so that I am grateful for.

I love the Diva scent – but not for my clothes. I didn’t like how it mixed with perfume, etc. I love it for my bedding!!!
Oooh maybe it’s the mix of the scent w/ my perfume! I’ll have to test out that theory!
I totally agree with you about the don’t agree…unfollow. what really gets me is when people are like “the world needs more kindness”. Where is the kindness in the above statement. Makes me scared for the future when no one can have different things, opinions or beliefs about anything. That to me is terrifying!!
I completely agree! Differing opinions is what helps us learn & grow from one another!
