I’m going to give myself a high-five because today’s Monday Musings – Vol 4 marks a FULL MONTH in this series! Being consistent with the blog has been difficult for me but I’ve found a renewed desire to write and this has been cathartic. Some people journal. Others meditate. I apparently prefer to dump my thoughts into a WordPress site. Whatever works, right!?

What I’m reading…

True Colors by Kristin Hannah. I mentioned I was starting it in this post & finally dove into it about a week ago. Yesterday I sat out on the deck and next thing you know it’s 3 hours later and I’m well over halfway done. I absolutely loved The Nightingale and The Room on Rue Amelie {highly recommend both!} so I had no doubt True Colors would be good. I’ve cried. Been annoyed. Wanted to punch a character–or two. So I’d say those are signs of a good book. I’m hoping to finish it by this weekend so I can start Firefly Lane on my flight next week!

What I’m putting on my face…

My favorite hydrating face mask that you all seem to be loving as much as I do! Maybe everyone is just sick of wearing a REAL mask, but 13 of you ordered the Jet Lag Mask from Summer Fridays over the last 12 hours and I was shocked. I seriously think you’ll be so happy! I use it once/week, more if I’m traveling, and it’s worth the price tag. I’ve had my tube for ~6 months and it feels like I’ve barely made a dent in it. Treat yourself, girlfriend! Just do it!

What I’m adding to my wish list…

My birthday is 2 months away. I know, I know. Ridiculously early, but I am adding things to my wish list. Not really things but A thing. Multiple versions. I’m indecisive with big purchases, so I’m giving myself plenty of lead time on this one 😉 Do I need a new bag? Unlikely. Is a new bag what I want for my birthday gift? Sure is. So that’s what matters. Here are the 4 I have my eye on at the moment: this traditional plaid cross body, this mini camera bag, this old school shoulder style and this red leather trimmed classic. What is your vote?!

Random Ramblings…

If you don’t follow Heather McMahan on IG, go do it now. Her Absolutely Not podcast is fabulous (been listening to it since episode 1) but her Instagram account is pure gold. Basically she’s a female Chris Farley. Probably not great for your children to listen to, but she’ll have you in tears.
Give me ALL THE MUMS. I love me some brightly colored flowers, but dang the mums we got last week are crazy good. Hy-Vee wanted to charge $50 for a small one–LOLZ–but Home Depot came through with huge ones for $17.99. Sold, sold & sold. I prefer the darker reddish-orange combo but literally will take them all!
My favorite Fall candle from Anthropologie is back so naturally I had to order one for each bedroom. The pumpkin is subtle but smooth and the scent throws super well, even while not lit.
I get to see all my nieces & nephews over the next 10 days! ALL FIVE OF THEM. I could not be more excited to squeeze cheeks, change diapers and love on each and every one of them 🙂
