Fitness trackers are everywhere right now.
But seriously…take a look at peoples’ wrists and I swear over 75% of them have on some sort of fitness tracker. I love the idea of them because it’s a great way to set small, daily goals and keep track of how you performed each day. Up until about a month ago, I only used a tracker {THIS ONE} on my runs and during spin class + utilized Orangetheory’s chest strap heart rate monitor in class. My sleep pattern is pretty consistent, I don’t struggle getting a solid 8-9 hours in every night & I am almost constantly on the go so I’ve never been too concerned about what my body is doing outside of my workouts. When I was approached to test out Mio’s new SLICE with PAI, aka ‘Personal Activity Intelligence,’ I didn’t hesitate to say YES! The SLICE would give me the opportunity to track activity instead of just steps. PAI is an activity metric that focuses on heart rate and then takes your heart rate and personal data and turns it into a meaningful, actionable score {your PAI score} which then guides you on how much activity you need to stay healthy. How cool, right!?
About it.
The goal for everyone is the same: keep your weekly PAI score above 100, which is scientifically proven to extend your lifespan and prevent lifestyle-related diseases. You can earn PAI points by doing any activity that gets your heart rate up {think cycling, running, yoga, etc.) but you’ll earn points faster when doing higher-intensity activities. SLICE also displays smart phone notifications and tracks sleep, calories burned, distance and more! To learn more about the science behind everything, you can check out THIS LINK! I’m ALL ABOUT things being backed by science. I don’t want someone just saying something is going to work, I want them to explain the WHY and HOW. Mio does exactly that which is just one of the reasons I love the tracker and the brand.
Mio’s SLICE Features:
● Personal Activity Intelligence™(PAI) —your personal score for optimal health
● Continuous All Day Heart Rate Monitoring, 24/7
● Tracks steps, distance, calories burned
● Resting heart rate, sleep tracking and analysis
● Smartphone notifications
● Water resistant up to 30 meters/100 feet
What I really think…
So it’s great that I just gave you all the fun facts about Mio’s newest tracker and all but lets be honest, the info is great but what y’all really want to know is what I think about it. Don’t worry, I’m the same way! 😉 As always, I like to keep it 100 all the time on here so I’m telling you exactly what I think. My ‘pros‘ are: it’s cute {I have it in the stone color, size small}, the sleep tracker is really cool to review in the morning, I like the points system & I love that it’s backed by science. My ‘cons‘ are: the PAI #s can get frustrating {I say that because I’d find myself getting annoyed if I wasn’t scoring as highly as I thought I should be!}, it moves around a fair amount on my wrist and at night it gives off a green-ish light on the backside which is kind of odd. Overall I would absolutely recommend the SLICE w/ PAI for anyone looking for a fitness tracker that can do it all. It did take a few nights to get use to sleeping with it on but now I don’t even notice it! The app where all your results and data are held is super easy to read and understand making it great for all ages. I will say that I turned off the text/phone call notifications because that got a little bit annoying but I did like that I was able to see who was trying to get a hold of me! In the market for a new watch? Definitely give Mio a look! 🙂
