A ‘Black Friday’ in June?! What?!

I could care less what the month is, how hot or cold it is or where I’m headed. Black is ALWAYS the right choice. Earlier this week I was wearing the color because it reflected my heart & attitude but today I’m rocking it because I feel a combination of chic, sassy & edgy. I feel like #getitgirrrrrl is my theme of the weekend. And speaking of weekend…it’s the SIL’s Bachelorette Party weekend! YAY! ‘Lindsey’s Luau’ will be in full-force within the next few hours and there will be lots of tropical drinks, festive snacks and leis galore. I’m excited to pull out THIS ROMPER for our afternoon plans and THIS DRESS for the evening. Starting off the AM right with a Spin + Sculpt class at Elevate and then the fun starts! The highs this weekend are 96* and 97* so there will be no shortage of sunshine–a small reminder that water is about to be my BFF. Hydration is key, right?! 😉

Studs + a bold lip = amplified casual.

While this basic lightweight black top appears low-key, the back is a total show stopper. I cannot get enough of the lack of fabric on the backside and every time I ‘re-find’ this top in my closet I get so excited. For this particular outfit I decided to go with a lace bralette {usually I’d just do a black sticky bra} for something a little extra. Plus I’m a huge fan of protecting my arms from direct sunlight lately–already have so many freckles popping–so the long sleeve is perfect. If you are looking for something a little bit less risque, I’m loving this super similar option as well! Paired with one of my favorite pairs of boyfriend shorts, I loved the easy vibe this outfit was giving off. I had a handful of people message me on Instagram when I posted these on my story and ask about sizing–I’m wearing my usual 26 and while I definitely could’ve sized down, I liked the slightly baggy fit so I’m happy with my regular size. At just over $100, they are on the pricey side but I’ve had mine for 2 years now and the cost per wear is probably down in the cents! Since I wanted that cool girl edge for the evening, I added a studded sandal with an awesome heel height for max comfort, a bold lip and a simple pendant necklace. This was one of those ‘thrown together’ looks that after seeing myself I wondered why the heck I haven’t put this combination together before. Prepare to see a variation of this on rotation this Summer! 🙂
