#1 Going Whole 30
June is going to be a whirlwind. Between a Bachelorette party, wedding, College World Series and a bunch of other random events and commitments I know that eating right is going to have to be made a priority. So despite all of the things I’ve gotten myself into, I’m doing Whole 30 to prep before 4th of July because #beachbodymode is a real thing. Of course I’m going to be a bit lenient on myself the night of the Bach Party {hello vodka waters w/ all the limes} but besides that night and the SIL’s wedding night, I’m planning to stick to Whole 30 as closely as possible. Not obsessing because yolo and I’m not a dieter sooo. It’s the perfect time for a mid-year reset and I honestly love all of the recipes I’ve been pinning lately anyway. I mean how amazing do these Buffalo Chicken Sweet Potatoes look? And THIS breakfast bowl? Yum! Cutting out unnecessary carbs and sugars is the ultimate goal and I’m crossing my fingers this slight tweak to my diet will clear up my skin completely. My eating habits are honestly really good but being a little more strict is something I’m surprisingly excited about and looking forward to. I love a good challenge and I view doing Whole 30 in June as just that. If you’ve done it before and have any favorite recipes or suggestions, send them my way!
#2 Mini Ab Workouts
Going along with #1, I’m putting an even bigger focus on ab work than usual. While I don’t think a 6-pack will ever be in the cards for me, a flat stomach isn’t out of the question. It’s weird to say it but I’m more happy with my stomach at 28 than I think I was at 18. It might not be because it looks better {I’m pretty sure that’s not even remotely true} but it has more to do with just being confident in my own skin and owning the way I’m built. Although the upper part of my abs do have some solid definition and I ain’t mad about that one bit. Incorporating abs into every workout has been key lately and increasing the weight I’m lifting has played a major part in the improvement I’ve been seeing. Three of my favorite quickie ab routines that I try to do daily are THIS ONE, THIS ONE & THIS ONE. They’re all worth the 20 minutes max they take and if you can handle the burn, combine all 3 for a major core blast.
#3 Espadrille Sneakers
This trend is no secret and I’m all about it. I love comfy shoes as much as the next girl and when they have a fashionable element to them, I’m even more on-board. Espadrille sneakers are all over celebrities, street style bloggers, magazines, etc. so clearly I need/want to take advantage of a trend that actually speaks to my heart: functional/casual. PREACH! Below are my 6 favorite pairs at the moment. Let me know which pair is your favorite {I think #1 is winning for me right now!} or if you have ones you’re currently loving. 🙂

Kristin- this is such a great idea for a blog post. I am also on a low-glycemic diet and it is so hard especially with my chocolate and sweet cravings. Good luck with the diet! xo, Emily
