FRIYAY is finally here, babes!
Unfortunately in Omaha this Friday looks like the twilight zone compared to last Friday. A week ago I was in shorts, drinking a cold beer and soaking up the unseasonably warm and sunny weather. Today I am stuck at home because it’s 25*, winds are gusting 40+ mph and the snow is coming down in swirls. While I’m lucky to be able to do all of my work from home, the distractions are real. Two dogs who think me being home means play time and a pile of laundry that’s glaring at me make for some real struggles. Looks like instead of frozen patio beverages this afternoon will be swapped out for cozy joggers, a warm thermal and fuzzy slippers. Bummer! Another bummer is that the dinner date night Kyle and I had planned is being traded for take-out and a Netflix marathon. I’m not so mad about that though because it means #nobra #nomakeup and #noproblems and I’m totally good with that! 🙂
Subtle color pairing.
This outfit combination is one I was actually able to wear last weekend when it was nothing short of beautiful out. The fact that I could wear sandals was shocking but it also was a reminder that I am in desperate need of a pedicure if I ever want to shoe my toes again. Super embarrassing! So this outfit was a little different from me. I’ve had this shirt for about 6 months now and still haven’t worn it is! That part isn’t the different part because unfortunately I have a number of things in my closet with the tags still on–UGHHH–but the reason I haven’t worn it was due to the short cut. I’m not a crop top fan {on others, heck yes but not for me unless I’m on vacay} and with the thin and slouchy material of this shirt, it often gives a crop-ish vibe when I walk and move around. I decided to own my stomach, whether I hate it or not, and wear the damn shirt. This army green color is one of my favs because it really makes my eyes turn a funky hue and I feel like it looks fine even when I’m not tan. Currently I’ve been obsessed with mixing black and tan tones and THIS BAG is back in stock so I put on black denim, threw this purse over my shoulder and called it good. After shooting this look I loved the color combo even more in the photos.
Excited for tomorrow’s OrangeTheory charity workout. We’re currently raising $$ for the Augie Foundation for ALS Research and at 1:30pm tomorrow we’re doing a 90 minute donation-based class. I’m SO NERVOUS for an hour and a half of brutal-ness but the cause is so good so it’ll be totally worth every ounce of sweat. Other than that and another class Sunday morning, I’m focusing my ‘Snowed In’ energy to purging my closet for Spring and the upcoming SHOPBOP sale. Eeeeek!

Hey Kristin, haha I completely understand you how working from home with two furry kids can be distracting. I have two myself. I think for us women it can be especially hard because we always find something that needs to be done around the house like dishes etc… that distract us form getting our work done. On another note I absolutely love how you paired black jeans, green top and brown handbag. For me this is a perfect combination for a date night. Hope you have a great day tomorrow at the charity event. xo, Emily (SCsister)
