Oh Sweater Weather, how I love you!
Don’t worry Summer, you’ll forever remain my favorite but there is something so great about putting on a cozy sweater while getting dressed in the morning. The past two weeks or so in Omaha have been super confusing weather-wise. One day will require a warm turtleneck and booties while the next needs a sleeveless dress and wedges. ‘Tis the life of a Midwesterner I guess. Speaking of life…our already busy one just got even more hectic. On Saturday we traveled to Marshalltown, Iowa to pick up the newest member of the Kruse household: Cabo. He is a little 10-week old Lab that is full of SO. MUCH. ENERGY. Kyle has been searching for a hunting buddy and finally that role has been filled. Cabo is a total cutie and I’m already in love but that hasn’t stopped me from beginning the ‘shoes are not toys’ lectures already! 😉
A ‘Must’ Buy.
Rarely will I say ‘everyone needs to buy ___’ because I’m well aware of how vastly different each person’s style, budget and needs are; plus there a few items that I find universal to almost every girl. Today I’m talking about a piece that I truly think can fit almost all personalities, flatter most figures ANDÂ comes with a reasonable price-tag. This mock neck sweater is a Fall/Winter closet essential. Seriously. At $39 it is not going to break the bank and it is lightweight enough to be worn alone in warmer climates or under a moto jacket or vest in chillier areas. The length is long enough to pair with your favorite denim, leggings or to work with pencil pants. My absolute favorite part of the sweater how soft it is. With 5 colors to choose from, you really can’t go wrong.
The most simple of out outfits.
Keeping things low-key is kind of my jam. Yeah, I love a pretty dress and stacked heel as much as the next girl but comfort and function beat flashy in my mind. This sweater + understated denim acted as the perfect weekend wear for errands and coffee. The fringe booties gave the outfit a little bit of personality and gave my go-to Petty booties in the same color a little break. I was cozy but not hot and felt like it was truly Fall here. When debating on which color in this sweater to choose, I went away from my usual blacks/greys and picked this pretty green option. Not to worry though, the grey/ivory combo and the navy are already on their way to me. Like I said, at this price it’s hard not to pick out more than one! May your Monday be quick, your coffee strong and your attitude as positive as possible!
