Weekends are a whirlwind.
Who else feels like you’re on a constant countdown for the weekend and then it rushes by in a blur!? UGHHH. I swear that as an adult the days and weeks just fly by. Dear Time, can you slow down just a little bit??? Pretty please?! Friday afternoon my Mom, youngest sister Janae & Grandpa came up from Texas and spent the evening with us in Omaha. Saturday morning Janae braved a super intense Cycle + Sculpt class with me at Elevate before we headed to Sioux City for the night. For the first time since Cassidy’s wedding, all 5 Breon girls were back together and it was WONDERFUL. I’m so incredibly thankful that even though none of us live in the same spot, we all make it such a priority to travel hundreds of miles to be together; even for less than 24 hours. Seriously, family is everything to me and I wouldn’t trade having 3 sisters for anything! 🙂
Being Palmer’s Godmother makes my heart overjoyed.
Sunday little buddy Palmer Chet was baptized. So many family members from both Haley & Adam’s side were at the church yesterday morning to witness the special moment and I was lucky enough to be asked to stand up with them as his Godmother. All the heart eye emojis were in order because that nugget is everything to me. He’s the best baby and his smiles are my favorite. In late September we get to watch him for a long weekend and there’s a good chance I will try to keep him! 😉 The love that surrounds this precious boy is overwhelming and so amazing to see.
Now the important info: my dress.
Kidding. But I did spend a decent amount of time trying to figure out what the heck to wear to a baptism. I knew I wanted something with blue in it and as I thumbed through my closet, this short-sleeve maxi dress basically called out to me. I picked the dress up last month while visiting my parents at a little boutique in the Denton Square. The boutique itself, Palm Tree, was beyond adorable and I can’t wait to pop back in when we’re back there over Labor Day. Unfortunately it’s not available online but I am loving some similar options here, here, here and here. I’m obsessed with the gauzy material of this thinly striped maxi and love how the short, flutter sleeves give it a completely different look than any other dress I’ve worn. In all honestly, it was probably a bit too low for church so I used my go-to Hollywood Tape to make sure my bra didn’t make any surprise appearances. The length is great too because I wasn’t forced to wear wedges but instead could wear my cute studded sandals. Much more Palmer-friendly! To change it up, I can easily wear a short, chunky heel for a date night with Kyle or add slides & a wide-brim hat for a day at the beach.
Apologies for the picture overload but I had a hard time NOT sharing these pictures! <3
