Eyelet details immediately amp up any look.
It’s true, just think about it for a moment. When you find a top or dress with intricate eyelet detailing you need on minimal, if any, accessories to finish off the outfit. It’s as if the accessories are already built-in saving you money on a pair of statement earrings or ornate necklace. Hello simplicity and ease; two of my favorite aspects within any look. Did you all have fabulous weekends?! Did anyone do anything out of the ordinary or super fun!? I got back late Saturday afternoon from Texas–always depressing to leave!–and spent my Sunday doing blog stuff, hitting up Whole Foods, and meal planning & prepping for the next 2.5 weeks. Cassidy gets married June 3 so I officially have 18 days to ensure my skin is as clear & body as toned as possible. Next Wednesday I’ll be sharing a glimpse of my meal plan & workout regime for the days leading up to her big day plus checking in with my starting weight and progress so stay tuned! Ok, back to the outfit in this post…sorry for rambling, yet again. I do it quite often.
Shopbop calls this a ‘Mini Dress.’
HA! I’m not joking, check out the photo {here} of how they styled their model in it. Considering I am not quite 5’5″ and this tunic, as I’m choosing to call it, barely covers my booty! The fact each of the lace eyelet panels are see-thru is an entirely different story. How this 5’9″ model is not showing us all of her goods is beyond me. Nonetheless, when I first came across this online I knew it would have to be a shirt on me but was a little unsure of how I could style it. At $55 I figured I’d take a chance on it though because I loved the texture and the cut. When the package came and I took the tunic out of the plastic wrap I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and how pretty it was in person.
A Spring ‘must buy’ for sure!
The length is perfect to wear with a pair of ankle-grazing skinny jeans and strappy heels but can also be front-tucked into boyfriend shorts and paired with lace-up sandals for a different vibe. I encourage anyone who buys this tunic to opt for a sticky bra but because mine was no longer sticky and needed thrown out, I had to go with a nude strapless bra instead–totally fine for my casual Sunday afternoon but if you hate the idea of any kind of bra showing {like I usually do} than you’ll need something backless as the cut out shows off everything! Not familiar with the English Factory brand? Don’t worry, I wasn’t either until a few months ago when I discovered it on Shopbop but ever since I did I have constantly kept up with new arrivals to the website. Their pieces are reasonably priced & right on-trend. I have this top & this top already hanging in my closet and also have this skirt and this OTS dress in my cart. So good!

That is so cute! I think it looks better as a tunic! I’m 5’8″ and dresses are a hit or miss because of the length. No one needs to see my booty.
Love that tunic!! It it perfect for spring/summer!

At 5′ I luck out on mini dresses and tunics- they all manage to be the right length. Maxis are a different story though! You look lovely as always babe! Hugs, Kait

hahaha I can’t believe they call it a mini dress!! I could only imagine what would happen if I tried to wear this as a dress… but anyway. I LOVE the way you styled it! They should borrow your photos because you look amazing. Loving the back detail! xx, Lo
That’s so funny. I find that dresses can look completely different on me than on the models as well. I’m happy that you found a way to make it work!
