It’s time for another installment of #ThursdayThree!
Yesterday was a hell of a day. I think it may have been one of the most up, down, and mentally-exhausting days I’ve had in as long as I can remember. Uncertainty in my current job along with uncertainty about what my next endeavor will be, missing out on my Mom’s 50th Birthday on Tuesday and my dad’s 51st yesterday because we’re 1,000 miles apart, literally witnessing a tornado form next to me as I was driving…so yeah. Rough day. Actually, really rough day. But that just means today has to be better, right!? Lets hope so! Now enough with my sob story, onto what Thursday’s are all about: my 3 favorites for this lovely {or not so lovely} final week of April!
#1 Hot Sauce
This is a weird one and I’ve always been a huge fan of spicy. Like, the spicier the better. But lately I have been on even more of a Hot Sauce kick than usual. I mean I am putting it on errrrrrrrrrrrything. Eggs, Pizza, Avocado Toast, those are all my usual suspects but I’ve been adding it to salads, hummus, and Brussel Sprouts. Can’t. Get. Enough. I’m partial to Tabasco but I discovered mini, stick-in-your-purse size packets of Cholula that I’m basically drinking. I told you weird!
#2 Workout Buddies
Typically I like to put headphones in, zone out, and workout alone but sometimes it is nice to have a workout buddy. Tuesday morning I bribed Kyle into running outside with me–ironic that I have to bribe a guy who was a regular at the State Track Meet and use to run a 4:35 mile, but I did what I had to! This Saturday my sister Cassidy is taking an OrangeTheory AND Barre Code class with me and I’m SO excited! Every once in a while I like to have someone to chat with on a long run or someone that’s in 10x better shape than me {Cassidy} to push me to try a faster pace or higher incline. Beckett also makes a great buddy because he keeps me company but doesn’t talk my ear off and last weekend I ran a 5k with my SIL, Lindsey. The course sucked but having her going through the same awful trail made me feel a lot better. I truly believe that having a workout buddy makes things feel like they go a lot faster, which is awesome. I also recently adopted a workout buddy at my weekday OTF classes–she may or may not actually realize it–that I always try to be next to because she’s a bad ass and I want to get on her level. Her speeds & the amount she lifts pushes me harder and has honestly allowed me to break my plateau and reach a few new goals recently!
#3 This Crossbody Bag
Unfortunately I tend to be quite the handbag snob. I try so hard not to care about the brand, label, or material too much but time & time again I find myself literally unable to buy a purse from Target, Forever21, etc. even if it’s beyond adorable. It’s like I created this stigma in my mind about what makes a handbag acceptable for me to own and it’s so weird because I wasn’t raised that way. Sure my Mom admires a great Burberry bag {I’m determined to buy her this one!} and has her own designer pieces, but she was never too good for a bag the way I tend to be. Well I’m making strides in the right direction because I recently bought this bag to take with me to San Diego and I’m obsessed. A price tag of under $60 kept my wallet happy and the size of it is seriously perfect. Plus the cognac color and Chloe-esque style is right on-trend. It even comes in a really pretty ivory color. Buy one immediately, I promise you won’t regret it!
I’m sorry yesterday sucked! So freaky that you were RIGHT in the tornado. Your weekend will be fun at least 🙂 I’m laughing at this post because I am the OPPOSITE! I literally cannot bring myself to spend more than like $40 on a purse. And I cannot understand the draw to designer handbags! Haha! So basically I’m on the other end of the spectrum. I am all about a cute, cheap Target purse!
PS – I hate hot sauce 😉
