Happy Thursday, friends! I’m super pumped to have tomorrow off of work. Kyle & I are heading to CHICAGO tonight with his sister & her boyfriend for the Iowa State vs. Virginia game and we couldn’t be more excited! EEEK!!! 🙂 Now onto my three favorites for this week…
#1 Overnight Oats – I discovered a recipe for these about 3 years ago on the Tone It Up website and I’ve been addicted ever since. There are so many variations in regards to toppings & mix-ins which means I never have to get bored or feel like I’m eating the same, boring thing every day. They fill me up, keep me satisfied, and are a great post-workout breakfast. Kyle is even addicted to them now! My favorite way to make them is with these Rolled Oats, unsweetened coconut milk, this yogurt and cinnamon mixed all together. In the morning I’ll add some kind of almond or cashew butter and 1/2 a sliced banana on top. Pure perfection!
#2 Wall sits – Yes, you read that correctly, good old-fashioned wall sits, the kind you despised in PE class and dreaded during high school athletic practices. Well I brought them back and love them! Ok, so I don’t really love them but I love their effectiveness. I’ve been doing sets of them during commercials and/or before bed. Just 5 sets of 60 seconds with 15 second breaks or if I’m feeling inclined, I may do a solid commercial-length wall sit. Your choice. Embrace the shake when you start to get fatigued because that’s where the change comes in. I don’t know about you but my thighs are probably my least favorite area of my body which means I am seriously all about the wall sit right now!
#3 Spending time with my FAMILY – Of course this is a given, but I absolutely LOVE when my family is around. My parents & youngest sister came up from Texas two weekends ago and it was so nice having them stay a few nights and just hang out. Unfortunately my dad had to go back on Tuesday for work but my mom & Janae were able to stay the entire week and on Friday we had a Baby Shower for my sister Haley and my soon-to-arrive little nephew! EEEKKK! I cannot wait to meet him and see how great of a mommy Haley will be 🙂 It was so much fun having all 5 Breon girls under the same roof and was an awesome reminder of how lucky I was to grow up with a house full of amazing ladies along with my very outnumbered dad!
Overnight oats are one of my favorite breakfasts to eat! It’s so filling and so satisfying! Hope you have so much fun in Chicago! xoxo
