I cannot believe how fast this past weekend flew by!
The weather was rainy, gloomy, and overcast up until about 5:30pm on Sunday evening so a majority of the two days were spent inside watching lots of College Basketball–and that is absolutely alright by me.
March Madness is my favorite time of year, hands down.
Sure I love Christmas, my birthday week, etc. but the energy of mid-late March is contagious and I can’t get enough of it. I can talk sports stats, particularly basketball, all day and all night. I pride myself on my ability to rattle off Player of the Year candidates just as confidently as I can talk NYFW runway trends. Balance, right!? 😉 On a very bright note, my mom, dad & sister Janae drove up from Texas on Friday evening and spent the weekend here {along with my sister Cassidy & her fiance!}. It was SO NICE to have almost the entire family in one place for the first time since October. Being spread out is brutal but it makes me truly appreciate the precious hours we do get to spend together even more.
With such a low-key 48 hours, my outfits were super casual and my makeup-wearing minimal to none. No complaints on the home front, that’s for darn sure! Having to get out of the house to run a few quick errands late Sunday afternoon forced me to throw on an outfit that more ‘being seen out in public’-friendly compared to the shorts and pullover I sported for a better part of the morning and afternoon. Just a swipe of mascara on my eyes meant sunglasses were a necessity and despite not wanting to put on a real bra, I rallied but went incredibly casual with my outfit. Simple pieces in white gave me a clean, somewhat put-together look but kept an uber-casual weekend vibe. I love this Free People henley {I have it in 2 other colors} because of its oversized fit. Henleys pair easily with everything from cutoffs to linen pants which makes it a must-have basic in my closet. With the warmer temperatures of late, I have been reaching more for lighter denim so being able to wear these raw hem AGs made me feel so Spring-like. As much as I love wearing dresses, skirts, and heels, I also love being comfy and casual. Being plain or simple doesn’t have to be boring. Add a fun bag, shoe, etc. to amp up this style or let it lay low like I did yesterday!

I love that white top. I’d probably mess it up too fast. I cook and bake a lot. I’m also an art instructor. I’m messy!
