Between the time I took these photos on Sunday and today’s post, about 95% of this snow has melted! I could not be more excited to finally see sidewalks exposed because that means my mornings are the treadmill are coming to an end. YAY! It won’t be long until my outfits from Monday, Wednesday, and today will be acceptable to actually wear outside and the mere thought of that puts the biggest smile on my face. When it’s cold, windy, and cloudy I can pretty much only be found in leggings, hoodies, and sweaters so barely a little skin is a bit nerve-wracking {I’m SO pale} but also very welcome too. I officially have Spring Fever and even if the current weather is just a tease of what is to come, I’ll take it. They say that Summer bodies are made in the Winter so I’m continually pushing hard at OrangeTheory and in my home workouts to make sure I’m ready for shorts, sleeveless tops and swimsuits. No days off, right!? Well lets be honest, sometimes I do take days off. Some days I also drink too much wine, each too much pizza, and don’t put my contacts in. I prefer balance. Restriction to me is blah. You do you and as long as you are happy/content, I am all for it.
Clearly I am doing minimal running in a tank & capris in 15″ of snow BUT once all this white stuff is officially gone, this particular outfit is exactly what you can expect to find me in when I’m on the trails. When I am running, especially on 5+ mile jaunts, I prefer to wear fitted items. I like to feel held in and tight because nothing is more annoying to me than constantly fidgeting with whatever I’m wearing. These capris fit like a glove and the material has the perfect thickness to it. I don’t feel like anything is hanging ‘out’ and the detailing on the calf keeps them from looking like everything else in my workout bottoms drawer. I was also able to test them inside for a sweaty 60-minute HIIT workout and was honestly a bit nervous how bad I might sweat through them…result: NO BUTT SWEAT! Hallelujah! The racerback tank I am wearing is super soft and made of a really supple fabric but I will say that it’s unlikely I wear it in hot/humid temps or inside for sweaty workouts because it is a bit thicker than I usually prefer. I can see this being a go-to for both Barre & Hatha Yoga classes or around the neighborhood while walking Beckett. The plus side of it being thick is that I had no trouble with the nip situation! 😉 Sorry if that was an overshare. Remember, I strive to be totally honest!
