It’s interesting the way our view changes on holidays like Valentine’s Day as we get older. I’ve never been one to give the day much thought because as cheesy as it may sound, I think love should be celebrated every day. I also don’t think your love for someone is measured with a dozen roses that cost $99 this week and $9.99 next week or with dinner at one of your favorite restaurants that for this day created a limited menu at 3x their normal menu prices. Luckily Kyle and I are on the same page with our opinions on Valentine’s Day so he knows to save money and get me flowers on a random day or take me out to dinner after a long work week. I feel more appreciated having things done for me when I least expect it rather than on the one day people feel obligated to go above and beyond. Not to confuse you and have you think that I’m a scrooge, I really do love Valentine’s Day and I really really love an excuse to get a little extra dressed up. This week I will be sharing 3 looks that will cover you regardless of what your plans are for Sunday. From a night in, to dinner and drinks out, to an all-out glamorous evening, I’ll be giving you 3 ideas to ensure that your outfit is the least of your worries!
Today’s outfit is perfect for a date night staying in consisting of take-out, a Redbox or Netflix binge, and a nice bottle of wine {Pinot Noir for me, please!}. I’m able to get into the holiday spirit with this kitschy heart-print, sparkly jumper that is equal parts festive and comfy. Wildfox jumpers do run large so even in an XS the fit is oversized and perfect for cuddling up on the couch with your significant other or your gal pals. To keep with the casual vibe but not read ‘typical night in,’ I added distressed skinnys instead of my usual choice of leggings. Since we’ll have to leave the house to grab our dinner and the movie, I’d throw on Uggs to keep my feet warm and continue the homey-feel. Because this outfit has a youthful feel, I decided a child-like half bun was the optimal hairstyle to match! 😉 If you love this jumper but are NOT staying in, it would be super easy to amp it up a notch. Swap out the skinnys for a pair of coated denim and the boots for a fun lace-up heel and you can easily take this cozy top outside the house and out on the town.

I feel exactly the same way about Valentine’s Day. Too much pressure, too stressful, and not spontaneous. Cute outfit.
