I really try to keep my style original and unique to match my personality but there are some times when I can’t help but follow what is popular. I spied this printed cape on the ‘sneak peek’ pages for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale late this summer and immediately put it on my ‘want’ list. Once the sale went live, into my cart it went {along with a few other goodies} for my first-round purchase. When I got it in the mail a few days later and tried it on, I wasn’t convinced. Kyle basically hated it, my sister was 50/50 in her opinion of it, and I felt like it sort of swallowed me up with its very oversized shaped. After wearing it around the house for a bit, I started to fall for how comfortable it was and the idea that it could be worn over any top/sweater or even utilized as a blanket come Fall. This particular cape has sold-out numerous times but is currently back in-stock. I would suggest that if you love it, don’t hesitate and order it right now! 🙂
For a low-key afternoon of pumpkin spice donuts, hot apple ciders, and admiring the gorgeous Fall colors, I threw the cape over a pair of well-worn black skinnys, a silk tank, and my newest pair of Chelsea boots {now on sale here!}. I love being able to wear the cape exactly how it was meant to be, but also enjoy utilizing it as more of a scarf to cut out the brisk wind. Capes are such a fun alternative to cardigans and with them being so on-trend this season, you can find them nearly everywhere. Here are a few that I am loving at various price points: one, two, three, & four. An ideal layering piece, I can easily say this cape will be on high rotation in the weeks, and months, to come!
