Shades of wine, burgundy, and merlot are all over bags, hats, and clothing items this Fall and the varying hues made me happy every time I see them. There’s a warmth to them yet an edgy vibe that is also a bit unexpected. When I was in NYC in August, I had a chance to stop in Paige Denim’s Meatpacking District store (where I picked up this and this) and try on these adorable skinnys. The Sweet Wine color caught my eye immediately but they only had them in a size 25. Deciding to try them on anyway, I just wasn’t so sure about the fit on me so I left without them. The next day, on my flight home, I kept regretting not just getting them so I ordered them while laying over at O’Hare {I went with a 26!}. As soon as they arrived I knew I had made the right decision and was thankful I wasn’t too impulsive in the store! These skinny jeans are so much more neutral than I even realized and I’ve loved trying new pairings with them. Right now you can snag my exact pair for 25% off from Nordstrom here or a few of my other favorite wine-colored pieces like this jacket, thissweater, these boots, and this bag.
For a late morning of lattes and a leisurely drive around one of Kyle and I’s favorite neighborhoods, I paired my Paiges with a comfy, oversized Chambray top and simple navyflats. I liked how the simplicity of the blues let the bold color of the skinnys be the main focus of the outfit. I plan to dress these up for a nicer evening with a pair of black pumpsand a cashmere sweater and am hoping the weather cooperates to wear them with thissweatshirt and a pair of slip-ons for the ISU Football game at the end of this month!
