Seriously, we STILL have Sweater Weather?!
I am the first person to wrap myself up in a cozy sweater but I’m also quite over the necessity to wear one now that we’re well into the second full week of March. Yes, I know that I live in the Midwest where weather patterns are incredibly unpredictable but cripes. There’s a big difference in my mind of choosing/wanting to wear something warm than being forced to in order to get through the day. I sound bitter and I kind of am. Today I’m in Kansas City {or at least on my way depending on how early you’re reading this} for the Big 12 Tournament and 10 days ago the forecast called for low-70s and sun. Instead we’ll be lucky to see any sun and no way is it getting above 45*. Definitely changed the way I packed and what kind of outfit I put on this morning. On the bright side: I am NOT at work, I’ve likely got an adult beverage–or two–in my hand currently and I’m surrounded by some of theeeee best friends ever. Oh and if anyone is wondering, I’d go back to being an Iowa State student immediately. My days in Ames were glorious, carefree and full of so many amazing memories.
Perfect cozy knit.
This past season Urban Outfitters KILLED IT in the knits department. At least IMO. They’re selection and quality combined with everything under $80 made ordering lots. of. sweaters. from them pretty dang easy for me. A good amount of my chunky knits look similar but this marled black and white combo is unlike any other combo I have so it was an instant purchase for me. It is not itchy whatsoever and while it looks heavy duty, it’s not too hot. Despite being cold all the time, having hot flashes due to heavy clothing is actually a huge annoyance of mine. However it was perfect for the slight chill in the air last weekend. I wanted to go casual but still look somewhat put-together so I opted for some of my favorite leggings and a textured bootie.
Keeping it short & sweet today for y’all. Be sure to follow along on Insta Stories {@amidwesternmix}–Snapchat drains my battery like cray–to see all this weekend’s fun! Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, lovelies! xox

Kristin, I am cracking up at the title of this post! I grew up in Indiana where we were in shorts one day and sweaters the next. I agree with you that Urban Outfitters hit the nail on the head this year with the cozy knits. Also, it drives me nuts when I dress for cold weather and then end up burning up at the office. Hurry up spring!! Super cute outfit for the extra long sweater weather season!

Kristie
